I work with adults of all ages 18- 101.

I accept most insurances including Blue Cross Blue Shield, MVP, CBA, Cigna out of network, VHAP, Catamount, and UBH. If your insurer is not listed, please ask me about coverage. Individual payment arrangements are possible.




CBT-I for Insomnia

 

Tired of being tired?!

Insomnia is such a large problem, and plays a role in anxiety, depression, and almost every kind of mental health issue.  Over 50% of adults now complain of difficulty sleeping!- half of these chronically.

In class session you can learn skills to successfully overcome insomnia using cognitive-behavioral practices. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) is a research based educational program endorsed by the National Institutes of Health. CBT-I gets a total endorsement in the March 2019 issue of Consumers Reports Magazine, in their article : Sleep Better, Starting Tonight!

Research on CBT-I shows:
• 75% of insomnia patients experience significantly improved sleep.
• The majority become normal sleepers.
• 85- 90% reduce or eliminate sleeping pills.

Who would benefit:
• Individuals with problems falling asleep or waking during the night.
• Individuals who wish to reduce or eliminate sleep medications.

Class information & Schedule: 
One initial individual sleep assessment: 50 minutes. 
Followed by: five two hour group psychoeducational classes over 6 or 7 weeks.  Small class sizes; limited to 8.
